A fantastic selection of rotating kitchens

Wondered why a pub's name refers to a French city? It is nothing more than a gentle nod to George Choumert, a French landowner and local figure in the 1800s, after whom the pub's street is named, who once compared Peckham's hills to those of Montpellier. If name refers to a French city and the leather seats and vintage fringed fabric lampshades might make you think of an American diner, you know you have entered a proper English pub, thanks to the cosy atmosphere created by wooden floors and furniture, as well as a majestic central bar that dominates the space.
The Montpelier offers a rotating kitchen lineup that keeps taste buds intrigued by fresh flavours, and the kitchen’s selection never disappoint. In fact, the previous pub’s kitchen, Whole Beast Kitchen, was awarded ‘Champion of Champions’ at the National Burger Awards 2024 for its Aged Cheese Burger. The new kitchen, Rocco, will now treat you to delicious… oysters! Not common in a pub!

Paws welcome here

Dogs are more than welcome at the Montpelier, where a treat jar sits at the end of the bar ready to spoil every furry visitor. This warm and friendly spot creates a comfortable environment where dogs and their owners feel completely at home.
