A historic pub for every season
Exterior red brick charm, warm wood panels and flooring, original mirrors, a stunning pool table, and stained-glass windows that let the light stream through and bring out the red touches of the pub... you know you have stepped into a truly traditional boozer when you enter the Duke of Edinburgh.
This Grade II listed treasure, built in the 1930s between Brixton and Clapham for Truman Brewery (look out for the original signage still on the front), now draws a lively mix of people who come to cosy up by the fireplaces in winter and spill out into the beer garden in summer - a sprawling South London legend where the pints keep flowing and the good times never run dry.
Get ready to feast on burgers, jerk chicken wings and chips – perfect if you love spice, but watch out if you do not, it has a way of sneaking up on you!

Spat back in time
Right by the bar, spot the funky chequerboard tiled trough spittoon. It was once used for spitting out chewing tobacco, but fear not – it is purely decorative now, and its history will stay in your mind, not on your shoes!
