Quality Guinness and Irish hospitality it’s known for

When you spot the numerous books specialised in Guinness, it's hard to miss that you've entered a proper Irish pub! Originally built in 1869 and rebuilt in the 1930s, this backstreet red-brick establishment was initially named 'The Dog and Truck' after the war dogs used to cart fruits around while all the horses were sent to battlefields. The now-called 'The Dog' pub is run by the very warm owner, Paul, who makes everyone feel welcome with the Irish hospitality it is known for. Expect to meet students, local regulars, as well as city workers who come to enjoy a delicious Guinness in the beer garden or get entertained with the well-known pub quiz!
