A local treasure by Peckham Rye Park
Nestled just across from the leafy stretch of Peckham Rye Park, the Clock House Tavern beckons like a hidden gem, perfect for a well-earned post-stroll pint. Once a Victorian shop, then home to the London Off Licence Company, this proud old building has embraced its finest role yet, becoming the beating heart of the neighbourhood: a pub, of course!
Arrive in summer and you will be spellbound. Cascading wisteria tumbles over the front like something from a fairytale, wrapping the façade in soft lilac blooms. Step inside and the magic continues. Rich woods, deep reds, forest greens, and warm touches of yellow come together in a space that feels both lived-in and loved. Here, light floods through tall windows, dancing across the cosy corners and casting a golden glow.
Tucked away at the back lies the snug, a red cocoon where time slows and conversation lingers.

A logo paying tribute to Charles Barry
Did you know? The Clock House Tavern’s logo features a protractor, inspired by architect Charles Barry, after whom the pub’s road is named. Barry designed nearby Dulwich Park and served as architect and surveyor to Dulwich College, where he created the Old Grammar School in 1842 to educate poor boys from Dulwich and Camberwell. He is best known for leading the reconstruction of the Palace of Westminster.
